After having seen some blogs about Entrecard and bounce rates i thought i would offer this free review on Entrecard.com being a beginner to blogging.
I dont know about you guys, but lately i am finding myself spending more time searching Entrecard than searching Google.
Please i am not comparing Entrecard to Google, it is just that Entrecard, in my opinion has three features that i found worked better for me.
Let me explain.
1) Searching
When i started my first website about 2 1/2 years ago, i spent weeks searching Google for Adsense tips and SEO advice. Most of the results that turned up sent me to either forums or to sites that just told you how much money they made.
Now please dont get me wrong i learnt a lot from some of these forums and websites but it was time consuming.
Entrecard.com on the other hand has categories for different niches. So if i need tips on marketing my website, i can just search the “internet marketing or marketing” section. Easy! At least i know that i will find something relating to the topic, not just pages of websites that are fully SEO optimized or ranked well and may just contain the keyword or phrase once or twice.
Some of the blogs i found on Entrecard, actually show you step by step on how to set up a BANS site for instance, which saves the beginner an enourmous amount of time.
2) Free advertising.
When i visit a site on Entrecard and want to learn about affiliate marketing i can drop a card and collect credits to use to advertise my site on other blogs.
So i learn and earn at the same time.
Put it this way, when i first started this blog about 6 weeks ago, and not having heard of Entrecard.com, with the marketing methods i had down on paper, i was expecting 300-500 visitors a month for the first few months. Well now its 3000 - 4000 a month and still rising. I also did not expect Adsense earnings to almost double so quickly, so that is another bonus.
3) Entrecard is more personnel.
Thanks to Entrecard i am visiting some pretty good blog sites i have never seen before. And let me tell you, there are some really talented and decent folks out there.
All of the blog owners i have got in contact with, have replied very quickly. Unlike my other site zipposuperstore.com, where i just send an email and maybe half the suppliers will respond. Oh well, their loss, they are the ones who are losing money by missing out on my purchase.
In closing who cares about bounce rates when your blog is not even 3 months old. If i make money online thats all i care about. Sorry and of course i care for my fellow Entrecard members.

My bounce rate shot up when I signed on to Entrecard, but you’re right - it’s the community which is the important aspect. Sure, there are some droppers who never engage with your site, but others do take an interest.
Nice increase in visitors per month too.

Great post, I never thought of it this way but you’re right. When I’m looking for help or just a specific topic I usually go on entrecard. I found great blogs on this site. Off course the bounce rate still bugs me, but sometimes my entrecarders leave me nice comments in my posts and I know it’s worth it to keep my widget up

First off I found this site from Entrecard, so it does work. I (somewhat) agree with Jim’s point about advertising on sites with a different theme than your own.
If you’re in a market such as Graphic Design or Web Development like myself you can use a nicely designed entrecard ad to your advantage. If I can develop a nicely designed ad and get it noticed; there is the potential to have other bloggers reach out to have an ad designed or visit my site to see what other work I can do for them.
Hopefully, I can spread my talents around and get rid of some of the tasteless default ad designs.

My friend told me about Entrecard earlier this week, I have seen my visit rate go up between 5% and 200%. While I think this is awesome, I have gotten no comments, just click throughs.

When I first started using Entrecard I was on the fence of whether I liked it or not. Someday I found it was a gold mine, adn the next day I hated it wish that slap it in the face.
Of course now I think (as lankapo put it) EC rawks. The main reason for the change in attitude is because I am now using EntreCard correctly. I find that EntreCard is all about powerdropping (although it is for many) but is about building a community and a list of contacts and friends.
My advice about entrecard is to treat it like and Social Networking community and it will work very nicely for you. AS I mentioned in a comment on a previous post my bounce rate dropped 10% since using Entrecard in this manner.

Entrecard is a very effective tool. Of course it will never replace Google, but its good to have good niche tools.
I like you’re site.
A note on bounce rate: if you were to move your ads from the left side to the right side of your article, I think it may improve your bounce rate. That way, I want be bombarded with ads before I see some good content, like you have.
If you have ever bought an advert in a newspaper, the bottom right is always the most expensive section because readers do tend to look there. If I were you, I would experiment with moving the ads over to the right and see if your bounce rate improves and how your adsense does.

Entrecard increases bounce rate to most of the Entrecard users ,but why it this happen,it is because most of us just drop and bounce.On the other hand,i suggest that try to interact with the most frequent droppers to your site such as thank you message to them and build up some rapport or invite them to your blog to join some campaign or subscribed as reader or so on.Ultimately,you are not only will receive credits but a constant traffics and reduce bounce rate

Entrecard, at first I thought it was a great little network. I was getting double the traffic than normal and I was getting a few extra comments a day. But then I started to realise that dropping 300 cards a day wasn’t really getting me any where.
Nearly all of EC’s traffic is bounce, it chews up my bandwidth, I was getting tierd of the outrageous prices for ad spots on some blogs. To me it’s almost like myspace for bloggers, entrecard is fine if you’re a blogger who blogs for fun. If you’re out there trying to earn some cash you won’t make any using entrecard. Remember, everyone using entrecard knows about adsense, affiliate links etc. They’re not going to click them.
All of the time wasted dropping 300 ec’s a day, using the forums, looking for blogs to advertise on could be spent working on your organic traffic. Organic traffic is where the moneys at.
