Are you sick and tired of websites that use copied content from your blog just so they can make money online using Adsense?
Well now you might be able do to something about it!
Recently Google Adsense gave us bloggers some great news concerning illegally copied content. Adsense has released some information about the procedures and tools we can use to protect our content.
This is quoted from the Google Adsense Blog
For example, let’s suppose you own a movie blog, where you recently posted an article about your favorite actor. After publishing it, you notice that another website has copied and published your article without your permission. The owner of the other website doesn’t respond to your requests to remove the content, and it is monetizing their pages with AdSense.
In a situation like this, where you believe that a site containing AdSense code is illegally copying your site’s content, you can let us know by following the process described in our Help Center. It’s our policy to respond to notices of alleged infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and other applicable intellectual property laws.
The notice should be sent directly from the owner of the copyrighted materials allegedly being infringed (in the example above, that’s you), as we are unable to accept third-party copyright complaints. Also keep in mind that we are unable to process copyright complaints received through the AdSense policy violation report form. Once we’ve received a notice of infringement, we will take appropriate action. If you’d like more information about our DMCA process, please visit http://www.google.com/adsense_dmca.html.
Additionally, if you find a site that is scraping (misappropriating and republishing) your content, you can report it for a potential violation of the Google Webmaster Guidelines. To do this, fill out the form at https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/spamreport (you must be logged into your Google Account to access this form).
Could these new terms on using the Adsense code and copied content be the death of spam Adsense websites?
How will this affect all those Adsense users who use a RSS Feed grabbing plugin just to make money online with Adsense?
Well, my friend, here you touched me in a sensitive place… Why? Because i use to download pictures via search engines and then i upload them in my blogs under post title like a image representation of my post… I never copy text from other site or blog because i know that is not right! But, this applies to pictures too?… I guess, if i can download them, are not copyright protected, no? I have Adsense in my blogs too… God, i did it! I’ll be punished?… Bell
That’s right you will be punished. Shame on you! Who hasn’t taken photos and posted on their blog. I think you are fine.

My first comment was going to be was how do you find out these updates from Google? I then read on and realized that you are getting some of this from Google’s Blog which I never have really gone to but maybe once or twice. I know awhile back there was a blog (I use that word loosely) that would come under my track backs and it would have my post word for word without saying where or who wrote the post. So all of this will be good news. You always have good info and updates on informing us of news that we should know about. Thanks for this info. JJ
article in this site very grade and benefit for me, am will be save this blog link in my favorite
page and am will be to visit again to here
It’s great to know there is a way to address these kinds of issues. I had previously tried to get this information once before but could never really find it.
What worries me is that I only find out about these situations where someone is lifting my material purely by accident, or if one of my frequent blog readers is kind enough to alert me to the problem. I wonder how much of this goes on of which we are never made aware ? It seems too easy for other sites to just completely lift content …. almost as if it is automated , much more sophistcated that just a simple cut and paste.
Great!
I blogged about those copiers the other day.
It makes me sick that others just harvest texts from others and earn money with it.
Thanks for this post!
Oh and to answer Vanea Bell.
There’s copyright on all creative products, drawings, photos, everything.

Bah, that’s just the old DMCA. Scientology has been using that since the last millenium to get sites critical of it off.
The Internet Watch Foundation is able to do much better. They just falsely claim a website has CP and then poof it’s removed from google without a notice to the site owner or even an explanation or name of site on the chillingeffects page that google links to when it mentions that they removed search results. Google search anything related to 4chan or even the word “4chan” and you get that. The IWF is lying because any site with actual CP would be shut down in hours by it webhost.
Very interesting comment about the images. I sure hope that isn’t the case, as I google for images all the time to use in my blog.
As far as the content goes, I’m glad to see that. I don’t know of anyone who has copied my blog, but I do know people can make money off of this, and I’m glad something is in place to at least attempt to prevent it.

This should help us bloggers to be able to protect the contents of our blog. It’s still disappointing that some people do these “inappropriate” methods just to make money online.

I want to follow up to my last comment. I’ve learned if a site is in DMOZ, it can scrape other sites all it wants and the other sites get penalized instead of the scraper in DMOZ. DMOZ is completely corrupt, by the way.
Damn those copy cats! I really hope google can find a way for that.
I had a guy copy my entire travian blog. I was so mad I wrote to “google” and then also told him I contacted adsense to remove his account. You can’t imagine how fast my articles were taken off his blog
So, this is a good thing. I am a content writer and spend hours a day trying to come up with something interesting for my readers. Having these peole steal my work really makes me angry.
Ramonas last blog post..The importance of quality comments on blogs
I agree with Ramona. It’s tough sometimes coming up with good text and then have someone steal and use it without consent is wrong. There needs to be a stop to it right now. I think people are honored if anyone asks to use our print, but to take and use it…..Well that’s another story. Thanks for this info on how to remedy the problem and cut the culprits off.

thanks for your info…nice article…this is very helpfull for me…
That is certainly a good news but there are thousands of people are doing this kind of work. I do not think that adsense have those many people who will tackle this.
Copied content and solving this issue is really hard nut to crack. You just post latest photos of a celebrity and within 15 minutes you will see such photos all over the internet.
Ya I’m tired of it!..I keep finding sites with my video tutorials on them that have nothing in the post other than the video..the site ends up being completely worthless or seems like it’s plagued with viruses..

From what I know, Google penalizes blogs or any other site with copied content. That’s the reason why posts in blogs have to be original to rank higher in search engines.

Hello,
nice post I like your site very well and continue to do so. I have brokemark your site.
very true, dmoz sucks these days, it’s filled with people of digg.com mentality….promotes sites of those you know, dump those you don’t.
Hey, cool tips. Perhaps I’ll buy a glass of beer to the man from that forum who told me to go to your site
this is really good news hopefully it will make people think twice
I also read that and have started to remove video units from my blogs.Let’s wait and see what new google comes up with in liew of this thing,
Generally it has been observed that people click on the adds which are blended in the content of the site and in video units they are clearly diffrenciated from content so they generally do not click on them.Adsense for domain is the new thing from google what is your openion regarding that.i am actually unaware of the facts of adsense for domain so I have not yet joined it.You can put a post regarding that explaining it in details,
thanks,
homebased
I have found a website that copied my content of the website and made it look like their own! Oh, I was furious when I happened to see what they did. Now, I have to go through these time-consuming to figure out what I have to do to stop them, instead of spending time making more educational pages for kids. Any help will appreciated will and sit down and read all I can about stopping people copying contents on the website.
This is great article. Thanks for the info.
