When people ask me who my favorite rock guitarist is, one of the first names I usually mention is Joe Walsh. Usually the next comment is, What band is he from? When I mention “The Eagles” most say, I thought they were a country rock band?

While The Eagles have had a lot of hits which most people would call “country rock”, Joe Walsh has also had a number of solo hits including, Rocky Mountain Way and Life’s Been Good, where he shows us not just how good a guitarist he is but also what a great performer he can be.

Most Top 10 lists I have seen regarding best rock guitarists, few mention Joe Walsh. Sure there is Jimmy Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, Carl Perkins, Eric Clapton etc, so I thought I would show you this video and explain not just why I think Joe Walsh is a great guitarist but also what a fantastic show The Eagles can put on.
